Week 3 EOC: Making Money for Good

Making money for a good cause is something that is widely popular in the world. More examples of this are celebrities, the media, and social change, as well as how products are sold in most stores. These include stores like Sephora, M.A.C. and celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera, Cher, and many more.  Sephora does a campaign on so many things that makes them a suitable cause for society. They have three main lines that they sell that all proceeds go to funds that help people in need. One of them is the pink line which is called the pink collection where everything is pink. Everything you buy from this collection means all proceeds go to breast cancer awareness. Various other donations such as men’s product go to prostate cancer awareness. The last donation from Sephora includes a project that they personally do that helps women feel more confident and to stop violence. “Every good act is charity; a man’s true wealth hereafter is the good that he does in this world to his fellows.” http://thinkexist.com/quotations/charity/. MAC cosmetics also do a charity such as Viva Mac Glam that goes to the Mac aids fund to find a cure. Celebrities such as Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga, and Cyndi Lauper are involved in this as well. For Celebrities the most charities they do to make money for a good cause are selling either their products that they lease onto clothes in independent clothing stores, or performances, as well as donating a part of their wealth to help a cause. Another example of this is that they also release products entirely under their name, specifically for a cause, and that works as well too.  Overall this is how making money for good is actually good and worth more than something bigger. Also this is really great PR for them as well, so both of them win.
